Midwives an Obstetrical Emergencies
“What do you do if you have a midwife that’s taking care of you during your labor and you have an obstetric emergency? Well, the first thing is, don’t worry. We’re going to get you taken care of. Midwives don’t work in vacuums. They work with doctors and doctors work with midwives, and so we each know our roles in that. And the midwife is going to reach out to the doctor that’s covering for her. She’s going to make sure that you get whatever you need, even if it requires a physician intervention, like a c-section.”
