TRANSCRIPT OF ANSWER

So the question is why did I start work as a birth worker, as a midwife? And it’s very hard for me to answer that question. I actually started off writing and was in the work of journalism and I started by reading about birth reading every book there was on the topic. I became so obsessed with the topic of childbirth, labor and women’s health that I found myself going towards the path of midwifery. Most everything in my life I’ve learned about through reading books. And one day I hope to write a book about this field. It’s been a wonderful job for me and I can’t believe that I ever considered anything else. It seems something I was born to do and every midwife I’ve ever met says the same thing, that it’s a calling, and I just happened to find mine through reading books.
