Saturated Fat in Pregnancy
“There’s a big misconception about saturated fat. You know the outer casing of your cell is actually saturated fat. So saturated fat is very nourishing to our bodies and it can be very healthy for the mom and the baby. A baby’s brain is going to be running on fat. You need fat to help develop a brain. So helping with proper development fat is going to be vitally important, especially saturated fat. Then the essential fats, which would be like the Omega-3’s and the Omega-6’s are going to be so important that you get that nutrition in your diet, whether you’re eating it or supplementing. Obviously, you want to eat that saturated fat. So if you’re shying away from the butter, don’t. That grass-fed butter is going to be one of the great things that you can do.”
